Agency Updates
· Krystal reported that there is going to be a new early childhood education programming site added in the West M / Hopewell area; site not yet finalized.
· Joe N. reported that they are piloting a youth and court assessment system; it will become the same system throughout the state.
· Elaine reported that Operation Feed was very successful this year; Lace Up for Kids is gearing up. If anyone is interested on being on the Advisory Board, please contact Elaine.
· Jim shared that the Schindler Holocaust traveling exhibit will be at the library July 3-August 12.
· Stacy reported that there is a new zoning administrator. She reminded us that the Community Block Grants are due mid July.
· Linda shared that statewide clinical mental health services are going to be required to use the same forms for consistency purposes. Sometimes these forms aren’t compatible with existing equipment. Our thoughts are with Linda and her staff in meeting this challenge, hopefully the consistency will make it worth the headaches!
· Heather shared that with the funding loss as a result of the election, some staff had to ‘go back’ to their home agencies and that 80 children had to be reallocated; they continue to find children with developmental delays. They are currently participating in a pilot study screening for post-partem depression. The study will go through the end of the year; they have caught 11 Moms so far. Referrals are made to Six County.
· Carol reported that the educational programming at the HealthPlex this August will focus on athlete’s concerns of infections, injuries and nutrition. Construction has begun for the First Care location in South Zanesville.
Thanks to Mary Herda, Heartbeat Family Center, for today’s refreshments!
